Example listing. It shows how a GJWV role should be written. It is not a live opening, and an application is not sent to an employer.
Sponsorship
Field & Form is an approved sponsor and will nominate this role under the Skills in Demand visa, Core Skills stream. The Skilling Australians Fund levy and the nomination fees are paid by the firm.
Relocation. A relocation allowance of AUD 8,000 and an introduction to a migration agent the firm already uses.
The work
You will take buildings from scheme design into documentation, working beside architects who still sit in the same room. The office is in Surry Hills. Site days are part of the week, not an exception. The firm is hiring from overseas because the projects on the books need another chartered-level engineer this year.
Responsibilities
- Lead the structural design of mid-rise residential and civic jobs.
- Coordinate with architecture and services before the drawing set locks.
- Review shop drawings and attend the site when the structure is going in.
- Sign off only the work you have actually checked.
Requirements
- A degree in structural or civil engineering and a path to local registration.
- Four years designing buildings, including at least one built project you can walk someone through.
- English.
- A skills assessment where the visa route asks for one. The firm helps arrange it.
This page describes what the employer says they will file. It is not immigration advice. Confirm the route with the authority that issues the visa.
